Melanie has been working as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator for 14 years, and she started drawing pet portraits at the request of a friend a couple of years ago. Since then, demand has grown and she is now very close to completing her 100th portrait. Melanie only started teaching her techniques this year with remarkable results achieved by workshop attendees. Feedback has shown that everyone has been thrilled and completely surprised at the quality of the portraits they’ve produced.

Join me for a session on drawing your beloved pet (Cats and dogs only please).

The focus of the workshop will be on shading, rendering of fur, noses/eye details and general ‘mark-making’. I’ll guide you through the process I follow for my portraiture. We will be transferring your image onto the paper and so no prior drawing skills are required.

I will email you prior to the workshop to help you choose an appropriate image.

These are the materials available to use during the workshop:

• A4 sheet of Artspectrum Blue Haze Colourfix paper (you’ll obviously take this one home with you)

• Graphite transfer paper

• White Polychromos pencils

• 2B, 4B, 6B and 8B Staedtler Mars Lumograph Black pencils

• Kneadable Eraser

Price includes tea, coffee and refreshments.

Workshop Level: Beginner

Suitable for: Ages 16+

What do I bring?  Melanie will email you once you’ve booked to ensure you choose the right one.

We will send you an email in the days leading up to your Workshop. Please keep an eye out for it (including in your Others or Trash folders).

Cancellations: Cancellations 30 days out will receive full refund; 14 days out will receive 50% refund; cancellations 7 days out will forfeit full payment.
