INTRODUCING KIM HERRINGE…
I am passionate about 2 things … printmaking and teaching. Sharing the craft of printmaking, hand printing onto paper and sharing calming and sometimes quirky moments from the natural environment as my subject matter drives my arts practice; and fuels my passion to teach.
Working with relief and intaglio printmaking media, in a culture of haste and automation, I find that the natural environment encourages us to be still and present.
With my art, I can bring the natural world, its stillness and calming qualities, inside my busy world, to simply stop and enjoy the process of creating something hand crafted.
ABOUT THE HOUSE OF ARTISAN WORKSHOP
Lino printing is fun and easy. Whether you are new to printmaking, have never used lino before, or worked with it years ago in school, by the time you finish this workshop you will be equipped with the skills to confidently continue to print with lino at home or in your own studio.
You will learn how to prepare your image, use the carving tools, then carve and print a linocut. We will print a small edition onto quality printmaking paper with a baren, and learn how you can apply this printmaking technique to other surfaces such as fabrics (and even walls!).
Warning – the possibilities are endless and the process is addictive!
