ABOUT THE ARTISAN
Heather is originally from New Zealand and now calls the Sunshine Coast home. She has lived and taught in Borneo and The Bahamas for 11 years. Heather is a Mosaic Artist, drawing inspiration from geometric patterns in Nature, and from travel experiences, such as visiting Gaudi’s work in Barcelona and the ancient Turkish mosaics in Sardis and Ephesus.
She mosaic surfaces for both utility and asthetics, often using secondhand furniture, as much of it is made of beautiful wood and it’s exciting to ‘up do’ an old item. Taking pleasure in restoring something that was once obsolete, she also creates mosaiced mirror frames, trivets and tabletops that are new.
ABOUT THE HOUSE OF ARTISAN WORKSHOP
Join Heather from Amayz Mosaics for this Beginners Workshop. No experience necessary at all. Learn about design, textures and colours and how to cut your tiles to create a gorgeous design on your very own Trivet. Size 19.5cm x 19.5cm.
The workshop will take 6 hours, and covers techniques, different types of design and how to achieve it. You will walk away with a completed (or very close to) piece of practical art!
Please BYO lunch and snacks. Tea and Coffee will be provided.

Suitable for: Ages 12+
What do I bring? Participants will need to have some idea of the colours they like. We will supply Aprons, but please bring closed in shoes.
Cancellations: Cancellations 30 days out will receive full refund; 14 days out will receive 50% refund; cancellations 7 days out will forfeit full payment.
