A dedicated ‘foodie’ and obsessive home cook for over thirty years, Leah has now fallen hard for the handsome allure of sourdough, along with fermented foods in general.
Baking around 40 loaves a week in her humble home kitchen, Leah designed this workshop to share her methods and enable the home cook to achieve real, artisan bread (for only a couple of dollars a loaf!)
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Always wanted to make sourdough but felt too unsure? Don’t know where to start? I can give you confidence!
Join me for hands-on instruction and practice in making your own sourdough.
This will be a fun and down-to-earth session, where no question is too basic.
We’ll work with dough in all the stages of the process. No kneading involved!
You will learn about sourdough starter culture, mix dough, develop the bread structure and flavour, achieve a pretty crust and bake the loaf. You can do this!
You’ll come away with…
– hands-on practice with making sourdough
– one logical recipe to follow
– an understanding of what equipment to use
– a folder with other recipes, instructions to make your own starter, sourdough terminology and a list of websites and resources to set you on your way.
And of course a FREE freshly baked loaf of sourdough bread is included!
EXTRA BONUS- take home some FREE sourdough starter culture, to start making your own bread straight away.
Classes are limited to 6 people, all equipment is provided and a lovely morning tea is included.
